Obama: Fight for gay rights, but not religious freedom

They've kind of been persecuting Christians since the beginning.

The Obama administration has been decidedly cool - OK, downright cold - on working toward international religious freedom and human rights. To say the least, it has not been a priority. Virtually no pressure has been applied on nations who continually violate basic human dignity and religious liberty.

So, it was somewhat surprising that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton delivered a high-profile international speech in which she spoke up for those who "are arrested, beaten, terrorized, even executed. Many are treated with contempt and violence by their fellow citizens while authorities empowered to protect the look the other way or, too often, even join in the abuse." The problem? Clinton was "talking about gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people."

Everyone is created with dignity in the image of our Creator. No one should be harassed like Secretary Clinton spoke of. But all of those countries that the Obama administration is so worried about persecuting their gay citizens, do the same to their citizens of a minority religion. Why would the President of the United States not be concerned about the multitude of human and religious rights violations of these countries? Why not stand up for freedom in general, instead of seemingly pandering to part of your political base
